People are encouraged to get some form of exercise at least 30 minutes five times a week. The older we get the more prone we are to have exercise pain and muscle strain as a part of our daily routine. Stretching prior to exercising is extremely important to reduce the pain and strain of exercising cold muscles. Most people find it difficult to stick with a program that is too aggressive. Therefore, if you can’t walk 5 times a week do whatever you can on a consistent basis. If you find that 10 minute walks 2 or 3 times a day are much easier than a sustained 30 minute session, then do that. Don’t let the thought of pain or muscle strain keep you from your program.
