Everyday Bumps and Bruises January 22, 2008

Posted by Serious in : Muscle Bruises , trackback

The older we get the more easily we bruise. Blood vessels become more fragile as we age which contributes to the fact that a bruise can occur without a prior injury. Conversely it takes quite a bit of force to produce a bruise in a young child. The amount of bruising may also be affected by medications that interfere with blood clotting, alllowing more blood to bleed into the bruised area. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS), aspirin or anything that acts as a blood thinner all interfere with blood clotting. If possible the first course of action should be to cool the area down by using an ice pack and taking an all-natual pain & inflammation relief formula such as NMS Neuromuscular Support.
